Vinyl Wood Floor Care

How to take care of your Vinyl/Laminate Wood floors.

Interior Doormat: Use a doormat on the interior (not exterior for fire hazard reasons) of your apartment to remove harmful chemicals from your shoes that would eat away at the protective layer.

Daily Sweep or Vacuum: The fine particles of dirt actually have sharp edges (like sandpaper) and will slowly remove the finish of your floors.

Sweeper Suggestion: O-Cedar Floor ‘N More or similar

Vacuum Suggestion: Any vacuum built for collecting pet hair (small particles)

Deep Cleaning: If your floor requires more than just sweeping, please use warm water with a bit of dish soap and mop. If the floors need a little sparkle, add a bit of white vinegar to the solution. After mopping, go back over the floors with a clean wet mop to remove soap and vinegar.

Mop Suggestion: Use a microfiber Mop as to not scratch or damage floors.

Furniture Pads: Keep your furniture on felt pads to avoid scratches if they’re moved across the floor.

Use a Rug: If your room has furniture with rollers, these will scratch your floor so please use a large rug.

Plywood: Gently lay down plywood or flat cardboard when you need to roll large items into your home, like a new couch.

Stains: If you have stains that require scrubbing, use a nylon bristle brush. Don’t use a knife or an abrasive cleaner to scrub away any stains because you’ll end up scrubbing away the top layer of your laminate along with it.

Enjoy: Enjoy the look, feel, and sanitary cleanliness of luxury vinyl floors!
