We were able to catch up with the owner and groomers of Doggie Style Bowtique, Midtown’s premier groomer and pet boarder. They wanted to offer our residents a discount and just let us know a little about their business. We are happy they are only a couple miles from most of Mac Properties.

1. Who are you and what is your connection with Doggie Style Bowtique?

“My name is Gretchen Miller, and I’m the owner of Doggie Style Bowtique.”

2. Where are you from?

Kansas City, Missouri.

3. How long have you been in the business?

I opened in March 2007, so it’ll be ten years next March!

4. Why did you decide to go into the pet business?

Having a sales and marketing background, owning a small business was my goal and dream. I saved and decided working with animals was my goal. Animals are my passion.

5. Why did you choose this location?

I actually live in this neighborhood which is a huge bonus! It’s a great neighborhood for a pet salon and boarding business!

6. What are your goals for 2016 and beyond?

Last year we introduced our boarding addition. 2016 and 2017 will be all about getting that part established as well as adding a fifth groomer.

7. Who are your primary clientele?

Our clientele is not only our neighborhood, we groom dogs from all over the metro area, including Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit and Lawrence.

8. What do you want people to know about you and your business?

We do our best to make everyone happy. We provide a safe, clean environment with the best groomers who are specialized in breed standard haircuts. One of our groomers has 45 years of grooming dogs here in KC.

9. Tell us one interesting story about your business.

Being in business for ten years, you learn something new almost daily. But what matters most is our long term loyal customer base. It’s what sets us apart. With a staff of excellent groomers, you get the best haircuts every time.

10. What are your hours of operation?

Sunday-Monday: Closed

Tuesday: 9 AM-4 PM

Wednesday-Friday: 8 AM-4 PM

Saturday: 9 AM-4 PM
