Many of you know her as our residents services specialist who sits at the front desk, but there may be some things that you don’t know about our very own Mac Properties co-worker, Dana! In addition to being at the front desk, she also lives here and has a interesting and unique career on the side. See below for more details of this installment of Humans of Mac.
How long have you been a resident at Mac?
What do you like to do in your free time?
“Take advantage of the KC’s green spaces, unique neighborhoods and wide range of cultural events to stay active.”
What do you enjoy most about living at Mac?
“The cat seems to like the apartment and we enjoy the location, it is central to the areas and activities that we enjoy.”
Describe yourself in 3 words.
“Creative, kind and determined”
What’s your biggest strength?
“Well currently, I feel good that my hair bun game is strong.”
What’s your biggest weakness?
“Answering questions about myself or whistling. It is a toss-up between those really.”
Tell me about one of your favorite memories in Kansas City.
“My husband proposing to me at the Nelson-Atkins is one distinct memory that sticks out, but the city has been so open and approachable, I feel it constantly trumps itself.”
What attracts you to KC?
“Accessibility to the things that interest me and the ease of navigating through the city (plus my husband lives here).”
What are your life goals?
“To be on a first name basis with Meryl Streep and Martha Steward”
Tell us something interesting about your job, personal life, or charity work.
“In between retrieving packages and putting in work orders for Mac, I recently celebrated the release of a children’s book that I illustrated.”
What would you like to promote? Share as many details as possible!
“I am an illustrator, mainly freelancing in the areas of children’s books, advertisements and product design.”
What would you say to someone looking to live in this area?
“This is really a great spot; it is central to the most interesting parts of KC life but conveys a laid back neighborhood feel.”
