This will be our first post on the blog for Humans of Mac. As part of our community, we like to highlight our amazing and interesting residents. Everyone has a story and it incredible to hear the accomplishments and daily lives of people who come through our community. We hope that you enjoy reading.

One Glorious Year

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to explore the city, travel whenever I can, and write music.

What do you enjoy most about living at Mac?

My neighbors! I have made some incredible friends here and really enjoy the community in my building.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Loud, Ambitious, Goober.

What’s your biggest strength?

I have a pretty varied skill set. I would say my greatest strength is versatility. 

What’s your biggest weakness?

I struggle with committing to one idea for a long time and usually move on too quickly.

Tell me about one of your favorite memories in Kansas City.

I came here to visit a girl I had been talking with long distance from Oregon. On the 7th day I got a job interview. On the 10th day I got a job offer. Two weeks later I moved here and have loved every minute. This city has been very good to me.

What attracts you to KC?

It’s big enough to have everything you need and it’s small enough to be fun and comfortable. I love the unique identities of the individual neighborhoods in the city. I, of course, am partial to Hyde Park.

What are your life goals?

I am working towards starting my own business. I’ve been involved with lots of startups and would really like to work out one of my own ideas and see it all the way through.

Tell us something interesting about your job, personal life, or charity work.

Well, on Monday (July 6), I launched a new website with my girlfriend Whitney! She and I have started a fashion and lifestyle blog and will be sharing stories of unique individuals and their wardrobe. We will also be documenting our own adventures around town and around the country. We are focusing on what makes a person’s wardrobe unique, how to find and refine your own personal style, and Whitney will be providing insight on how to find and wear high fashion trends in your day-to-day life. You can check it out at http://www.stylestorytellers.com. We have been working on this idea for some time now and are thrilled that we finally get to share it! We will be updating regularly and are excited about new adventures coming up soon. 

What would you say to someone wanting to live in Apartments in Midtown Kansas City?

First off, I recommend this area to people all the time. I love Midtown and Hyde Park is the jewel in the crown. It’s friendly, close to everything, and has a certain homey-ness to it that is very refreshing.
