Living at Mac

Liz H. at Westport Central
Meet Liz, our Westport Central apartments resident, and featured Humans of Mac. She works hard and bikes harder. An avid biker, she travels all across Kansas City with her all-female cycling team, and grabs the most out of life. With the lack of parking at Westport Central(we know..we know), it is a perfect apartment for the regular cyclist.
What is your name and how long have you been a resident at Mac?
“Elizabeth H. and three years at Westport Central.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“I’m a cyclist and ride my bike all over the city.”
Describe yourself in three words.
“Athletic, fun and dedicated”
What is your biggest strength? Weakness?
“Strength is ability to push myself beyond my conventional limits physically. Weakness is that I get quite restless and have a low attention span.”
What do you enjoy most about your apartment or living situation?
“It’s inexpensive and in a very central location in KC. Close to everything (except where I work).”
What do like most about Kansas City? Tell us your favorite story from KC.
“I love being in the center of the action, walking out my door and feeling like there are endless options as far as “what to do that evening” is concerned.”
What are your life goals?
“My life goals mostly revolve around cycling- I want to change the scene as far as getting more women involved in a very male-dominated sport. My ultimate dream would be to start a junior female cycling team to get more young girls and teens involved.”
Tell us something interesting about your job, hobbies, talents, personal life, or charity work.
“My good friend Julie started our first all-female cycling team in KC called Team Pedalino. We are all newbies to the sport but look forward to racing this season and building a strong presence in the KC cycling scene.”
What would you like to promote or share to the world? This can be anything; a belief, advice, a business, a charity, a thought – just share as many details as necessary.
“We all die, but not all of us actually LIVE – I love this idea – focus on the now, don’t live for the weekend. Suck every bit of joy out of every minute you can, because we won’t be around forever.”
What would you like to say to someone looking to live in this area or in a Mac property?
“I would DEFINITELY recommend they look into Mac’s buildings. I feel the quality and price points are unbeatable if you are looking to live in an urban area. Buildings are awesome old buildings that have been updated with high-end design.”
