Humans of Mac – KC – Jacob

Meet Jacob,  an enthusiastic cook, egg-flip extraordinaire, a resident of ours at Windemere, and this week’s Humans of Mac! He was preparing a dinner party for a few friends and invited our resident photographer, @tofutaon (IG) in on the action. Read on to hear some motivating advice and see some great pictures of him cooking. Be warned, you’ll be hungry afterwards! We appreciate the time Jacob, and thanks for your residency. Maybe we can organize a cooking class in the near future for other residents??

What is your name and how long have you been a resident at Mac?

“Jacob Eli Knerr and two in a half months.”

What do you like to do in your free time?

“Cook!! Food is my art supplies and the plate is my canvas.”

Describe yourself in three words.

“I don’t play by the rules.”

What do you enjoy most about your apartment or living situation?

“The kitchen! I love the open bar concept, the large amount of counter space!”

What do like most about Kansas City? Tell us your favorite story from KC.

“The food scene is really amazing here! I love going out to restaurants and trying new things! Nothing to crazy has happened to me yet in KC, but I’m sure that that’s going to change soon.”

What are your life goals?

“I want to make amazing food for people. Food that makes people think outside of the box, food that makes people get out of their comfort zone and try something new. I also want to teach people where their food is coming from.”

Tell us something interesting about your job, hobbies, talents, personal life, or charity work.

“Well, for only being nineteen, I have a pretty intense job! I work at Justus Drugstore in Smithville. The job is incredibly challenging at times, but it’s my passion so it’s worth it.”

What would you like to promote or share to the world?

“If you’re wanting to be better at anything you’ve got to fail a couple times. It sucks but in the end, it’ll make you a better person. #acceptthefailure”

What would you like to say to someone looking to live here?

“Absolutely do it!! The apartments are so chic and modern, and there’s a price range for everyone!”
