Wednesday, June 22nd marked the greatly-anticipated grand opening of Whole Foods Market at City Hyde Park. Locals lined up as early as 6am, lawn chairs in tow, for the chance to win gift cards and check out the grocery store’s chic design and fully-stocked shelves. By the time the doors opened at 9am, the crowd was wrapped all the way around the building!
Now, with all three main retailers open for business – Marshall’s, Michael’s, and Whole Foods – the corner of Hyde Park Blvd. and Lake Park Ave. will see a lively community presence. The City Hyde Park retail offerings cater to every personality, from the crafty and creative to the health-conscious, with more to come.
Residents in the area are thrilled about the unique offerings and convenience, with underground parking and easy walking proximity from Hyde Park homes, offices, and Harper Court and the 53rd St. retail corridor. One resident, who lives at Del Prado, said it was almost too good, even “a little dangerous” living so close to all of her favorite go-to’s!
Since our neighbors were drawn in by their curiosity to see inside, we welcomed them upstairs and out of the rain with the help of some fantastical performers to check out City Hyde Park’s beautiful apartments and luxury amenities.
In addition to the recent festivities, we’ve hosted a number of successful events this summer in City Hyde Park’s party room, rooftop deck, and gorgeously decorated model units. Below are some photos from Whole Foods’ grand opening, City Hyde Park’s open house earlier this month, our Admitted Students event for the University of Chicago’s Medical School, and our booth at the Hyde Park Farmer’s Market where you can find us on the first Thursday of every month this summer.
