Last Thursday’s festivities at The Newbern – to celebrate its grand re-opening – manifest into exactly the event it’s designers had intended: the music by, DJ Sheepa and Trumpeter Hermon, was bustling and alive; the sprawling selection of Hors d’oeuvres were consumed entirely and with haste, prompting a frantic second course; the two lovely barkeeps kept the floor of over 200 attendees energetic and amicable. The encroaching lighting accent throughout the lobby invigorated and showcased the refined detail of an ornate time before modern minimalism, giving the classic work a modern and lively refinement. The Newbern was very much alive on Thursday, and the culmination of all moving parts seamlessly blended to ensure that the event was a roaring success.
Much planning and effort was put into the re-opening, ensuring such the relaxed and graceful execution. The contractors finished their work in the allotted time, and the tireless and dedicated maintenance men polished the refining touches over many days – progressing an historic and restored building into the home its residents expect from Mac Properties. There are still a few one, and two-bedroom apartment homes available. The grand-opening event – such that it was – truly christened in proper fashion, The new, Newbern, and set the tone for days to come for Mac Properties newest and most architecturally significant building to date. It was a blast, and it’s only a start.
